Film Study #3 | The American
I saw this movie a while back and remember walking away from it having been greatly impacted not only by it’s story, but the impeccable use of color and composition throughout the film. Anton Corbijn and Martin Ruhe did a fantastic job with the film and have quickly become common names in my continual study of film and cinematography.

Film Study #1 | 2 or 3 Things I know About Her (1967)
I’ve started studying films that inspire me and selecting frames from those films that I find to be inspirational. Jean-Luc Godard’s 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her is definitely one of those films. I have never watched it until recently and was pleasantly surprised by the vibrant color, unique storytelling and beautiful cinematography that is consistent throughout the film. The main thing that caught my attention is how masterfully all of his shots are crafted as well as the way he narrates the story through whispering, which keeps the viewer engaged. It was hard to only select a few, but I’ve narrowed it down as much as I could.
